Roger Raufer is Resident Professor of Energy, Resources and Environment at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. An environmental engineer with more than forty years of experience in the energy field, he also teaches every summer at the Institut Français du Pétrole Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN) in Paris, and lectures regularly in executive education programs at GE’s Oil and Gas University in Florence, Italy. He has extensive private-sector experience in the energy sector, with particular expertise in emissions trading (including one of the earliest doctoral dissertations on this topic, at the University of Pennsylvania in 1984), and also worked at the United Nations in the Division for Sustainable Development in New York.
